The Caboose has a long history and working career. Originally built in 1910 as a boxcar by the Grand Trunk Railway it ran the rails of Eastern Canada until the Railway was bought by The Canadian National Railway. Then in 1942, in Kingston, Ontario, the little box car that could began it's transformation; stripped to it's steel frame, it was reborn and outfitted as a Caboose. Proudly serving CN and the men it housed until 1963, when it was retired from service, as almost all other Wooden Cabooses had already been. Bought in 1969 from the London Scrap Yard... it began it's third life as our family retreat from the city. Now in 2005, with much on-going love and restoration, the doors are now open to the public... with hope that a new generation can experience the charm and simple ways of yesterday, and make a few memories of a lifetime of there own.
